The alignment between SDGs and carbon credits
The UN established the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015.
SDGs provide a framework for promoting global peace and prosperity. Carbon credits play a vital role in advancing these goals by addressing climate change through emission reduction efforts. These credits not only contribute to climate action (SDG 13) by mitigating global warming but also generate revenue to support initiatives aligned with other SDGs, such as clean energy (SDG 7), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), and biodiversity conservation (SDG 15).
